Voluntary Overtime
If you volunteer to work overtime there are 2 ways to qualify for overtime pay.
- Daily Qualifier: To be eligible for overtime pay on your regularly scheduled work day you must work 8hrs. The first 4hrs of voluntary ot you pick up after meeting the 8hr qualifier is paid at 1.5 x your pay and any subsequent hours are paid at 2x your pay. If you are an 8hr shift and you swapped off your first 2 hours and then work 6 hours of voluntary overtime the first 2hrs of that voluntary overtime will be paid at straight pay to meet the 8hr qualifier, and then the 4 hours left will be paid at 1.5x your pay.
