2024 State Meeting

Every year CWA holds a state meeting for all sectors represented by CWA in NC. This meeting is held over several days and is usually attended by some board members of each local, representatives of CWA Staff, Labor, & each local invites representatives of their management. This year John Lyerly & Lori Fleming came on behalf of our local management team. Throughout our time at the state meeting we were taught a bit about grievance and arbitration process, Labor union history, & CWAs legislative & political involvement. These meetings are crucial because it brings members of various sectors covered under CWA together to learn from one another. We also have break out sessions to meet with our specific divisions (our division is passenger service). During our time together we discussed like issues between airport and res. We also were able to touch on the mental health ramifications from the increased stat requirements and the effects on our workforce since going fully work from home.
